Project Visibility
Every project has one visibility setting. It controls where the project is stored and who can open it.
| Visibility | Cloud sync | Access | Can change visibility? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local | No | Anyone with access to this browser profile on this device | No |
| Private | Yes | Project owner and workspace members granted access | Yes, to Shared |
| Shared | Yes | Every member of the workspace | Yes, to Private |
Local
Local projects keep their content and uploaded files in the current browser profile. They do not appear on another device after sign-in, cannot be shared, and are not included in cloud workspace backups.
Clearing site data can remove a Local project. Back it up before clearing browser data, resetting the device, or removing the browser profile. A Local project cannot later be converted to Private or Shared.
Private
Private projects sync through Lunaris Cloud but remain restricted. The project owner can grant individual workspace members Editor or Viewer access. Someone must join the workspace before they can receive private-project access.
Use Private for personal drafts or work meant for selected people.
Shared
Shared projects sync through Lunaris Cloud and are available to every member of the workspace. Each member’s workspace role controls whether they can change the project or only view it.
Use Shared for team knowledge and work everyone in the workspace should find.
Changing Private and Shared
A cloud project’s visibility can change between Private and Shared from Project Settings → Visibility. Changing a Shared project to Private removes workspace-wide access; grant selected members access afterward if they should keep using it.
For setup steps and examples, see Local, Private, and Shared Projects.
